You need to contact some brokers as not all insurance companies sell direct. I know there is a co. called Asgard who have no problems with endorsements and are competitive.

They were at least 800 cheaper than any other crowd I dealt with and no problems with them so far. just so you know :)

I know this thread is old, but there was no other search results for 'asgard endorsements'. I was off the road for a year and went back driving last year with Asgard (threw Pat Britton Brokers). They offered me a quote that I can afford financially; 1500e. Now a year after, when I have full attachment and dependency to my car they send me a renewal form informing me a am granted my 1 NCD (no claims discount). The problem is that now I have to pay 2800e I rang up Munster group who also is a broker and they gave me the same quote, so there is no mistake? (they also represent Asgard) I went and filled out 123 and Liberty online quotations and they wont quote with an endorsement, I must ring up etc, will they tell me different? Completely lost in this situation and don't know what to do really, I live in the north-west and completely depend on my car the way things are at the moment...

Try applying as a new customer (change the number on your address and your name). See if they offer a better quote to new customers.

Surely that's fraud and would invalidate any policy you took out?

Try someone like XS Direct. The excess will be ridiculously high, but the initial premium price should be lower than others will offer, and its a cheaper way of building up a NCB and riding out the endorcement. Just bear in mind that in reality the policy offers you relatively little cover.

I'm suggesting that just to work out if it would be cheaper. Not to actually take out the policy.
If it is cheaper you could try cancelling the policy and make a new one rather than renewing, although its usually dearer that way.

Try these two usually fairly good for endorsed licence well they were spot on for me anyway.

Phone them up and see how you get on.

my insurance company (broker) rang today:
the reason my quotation is higher this year is because last year I got a discount from the insurer (Asgard) but this year they don't offer it so its 2800, if I add my girlfriend as a second driver (her quote as named driver was 3k) it is 2850... it doesn't make sense!!!

Who else have you tried calling? Most of the companies who deal with high risk have been mentioned in this thread. You are going to have to get out the phonebook and call them and every broker that you can set eyes on if you want to be sure that you are getting the best quote that you can.
