I thought it was established that AerLingus sales ≠ Bargain alert

It's probably good for people going to France, Spain etc. but it doesn't include London.

    20% off what?!?

Whatever makey up fare they have in the first place!

the 20% is off their standard fares, so with the taxes etc being the same it ends up more like 10%

also they put upalot of prices just before the "sale", and the flights are regularly more expensive during the "sale"

Huge discount to be had here! :-(

It should be a scam alert not a bargain alert. No discount on flights in europe that I can find.

Flight prices on both Ryanair and Aer Lingus change frequently. Its not like its a set price and then you get 20% off.

Booked a flight to Portugal yesterday and let the price guide my dates. Ryanair were cheaper than Lingus. Only once in about the last 10 occasions have I found Lingus to be cheaper than Ryanair.

I generally travel to the same places at the same time of year and comparing last years price with this years price is the only way to judge if you are gettng a good deal or not. The exception is the free/1c flights but you never get them to places like Portugal.
