NTL box question

    Hi,

    The volume on my tv goes up to 100. When I watch a dvd, I have the volume at about 22, and it is quite loud enough. But when I watch tv I have to turn it up to at least 50 in order to hear properly, and there is an audible hissing.

    It doesn't appear to be an issue with the tv in the bedroom, but this is an integrated tv and dvd player, so not sure if it's a like for like comparison.

    Does anyone have any idea what the problem is, or what I could do about it? Is it a faulty NTL box?

    I use the UPC remote to control the volume, but have the TV set at full volume when watching something through the box.

    The sound quality is poor through the box. Don't think there is anything that can be done about it. Also, the buzzing from the box when it's on standby is ridiculous.
