    Hello Every,
This is only my second post in this area on boards.ie but i have a few questions, I am a web developer that i feel has come up with an idea to penetrate a big market in Ireland hopefully change the way things are done in this particular area. The good thing is i know my Ones and Zeros which keeps my initial set up cost low but don't have a clue when it comes to the Dollars and Euros. What i am looking for is either a good book or website where i can find out all the things i need to start up a company in Ireland, for instance from setting up a company name to figuring out what i have to pay taxes on, as i think this is the one area thats gonna let me down if i don't do my home work. Any help on this is appreciated as i'm lost on where it is i have to look. Thanks.

The only other thing I'd say to you is find a Financial Advisor/Accountant that you can trust early on and talk to them about what you should be doing. They should be prepared to talk to you about the basics in order to get you on board as a client.

Oh also your local county enterprise board run courses on a regular basis to help people start their own businesses so that might be a good port of call too. They are subsidized and are very cheap to attend as a result.

This may be obvious, but the courses in the county enterprise boards are very useful for beginners. The basics of accounting & taxation & setting up a business plan are all covered & if you are unemployed for more than 1 year then you can get on the back to enterprise allowance, which means they'll cover all of the fees. If not then they're about €50 or €60, which isn't too bad. If any of the consultants take a shining to your idea then they'll give you lots of free mentorship also.

    Goodluck;)
