Hiya, check out Ballyseedy Castle - its absolutely fab esp at christmas time. www.ballyseedecastle.com

Ballyseedy is lovely: not contemporary though I think, but it is wow :)

How about somewhere in Killarney like the the Malton: its very popular for weddings at the moment too. Oh or Killarney Heights Hotel I love that place it is so pretty.

The other thing is though you would really want to be booking soon: my oh is a chef for a busy wedding hotel and they have weddings booked for 2012 already and weddings are gone for Christmas 2011 already: the most popular dates go very fast

The Radisson Little Island is a fantastic hotel. Set in a small woodland has both the modern hotel and old fashioned ditchley house. My self and my other half have our wedding booked there.

Our wedding is booked for september so all of that stuff is included and we got a bit extra on top of that.

Surprised that list is not included in december especially the mulled wine mince pies  when do they supply that for free ?

Fabulous hotel. I love it :D amazing views, lovely stuff and great food... highly reccomend it: really nice smoking area too (which is important) right off the ballroom.

My mate got married there new years eve a couple of years back and I have to agree. Highly recommended and the smoking area is great, although I don't smoke anymore :)

You won't go wrong with any of the hotels mentioned, also Dingle Skelligs is fabulous and doing good deals at the moment, sea view from the ballroom is breathtaking but I guess that won't matter seeing as it's dark at 6pm at xmas. Most of the popular hotels and ahem, service providers are here http://www.weddingsinkerry.com/ to do a comparison best of luck hope you find the perfect venue.

Lovely hotel but have heard very mixed reviews on the food.

Also, speaking from personal experience, if you're going to have children there on the day, they may not feel especially welcome. We went to view it in 2007 and were very impressed until we saw how the manager spoke to some small children who were there at a (I think...) christening. Put me right off.

I think myself they are one of the most child friendly hotels you can come across. I eat there frequently, and they give free cans of coke etc with kids meals and theres a pool table etc. I'm there every few weeks and I've been at over 10 weddings there: never had a bad meal :D

I'm not talking about in the restaurant and bar, I mean upstairs in the main function room. Whatever about giving kids a free drink with their meal, shouting (and I mean ROARING!) at a group of small children at a daytime function just because you think you're out of earshot of adults is a huge no-no for me. We really were keen on booking it right up until that moment.

Do you not watch "DONT TELL THE BRIDE"...they all have their weddings within 3 weeks. Im sure its possible...12 months is plenty of time. Sure ye'd prob forget what you were planning 2 years ago. Hell i barely remember lastnight let alone what i decided to do 2 years ago.

I do. And i NEVER said it wasn't possible  what I said was

I don't see whats wrong with that??

And on Ballyroe: ouch the managers shouting at kids like that: that is totally not right. I t would put me off a place if I saw that too. I'm hoping that was very out of character for the hotel cause I really like it there.

    HI
I am also looking for somewhere in kerry for my wedding in Spring 2012.
So far I have kenmare bay hotel is on top of list going down to the wedding opening day to see the hotel and grounds,

Hi Holly78 have you been to the hotel yet? I am having a civil wedding myself with approx 100 to 120 guest.

Any one ever been to wedding at the hotel? Does it have views of the bay?

Kenmare bay does not have any views, but Sneem Hotel has amazing views. Was at a wedding there in August and it was just fantastic. The food, service, staff, location etc. We also stayed the night Sneem Hotel and to wake up to those views in the morning....wow. we can't wait to go back. www.sneemhotel.com Check it out, they are really popular now for weddings
