I wouldn't worry too much about what some guy is doing from the Balearic islands and the how, why's and what's of his situation. Thing is he's training and winning tournaments. Badges, instructors, associations are all secondary to actually training and competing.

really it doesn,t . but still how does he represent FITE if he never there and to grade as well on top of it.and join when he rarely there if he never there and how doe me mange to join if never there. this has confused is it different in Spain to Ireland because of the size the country .is that allowed in Ireland to do that.

You said he has no regular instruction. maybe the irregular is enough to give him membership and allow him to compete?

I think Louise is asking how a martial artist can reach such a high level without having an actual teacher instructing them face to face.

In fairness you don't HAVE To be a high level to COMPETE in these tournaments, just if you want to win them :D

Membership of an association is obtained through paying a membership fee, that will cover him and of course the fact the he is a top class competitor FITE will want association with him. I don't see a huge problem if it's working for him.

    My bad, didn't see that.

Has he practiced other arts? that'll def stand to him in tournaments as well as the fact some people just "get" the fighting style and go on to pick it all up very easily. ( I was never this person :( )

thanks oh so that what he doing i never came across that people can do that, just paying a membership fee, they let him compete like regular person in a club. that's such a cool idea so how does he get patterns right and spar for practice and grade as well with rules of grading u have to be there regular to grade don,t u ?when there is no one to spar
