    messing around with aerial again.
picking up channels 41 and 44.
holding steady for past couple of weeks.
when checking out channel numbers in product book for blakes uk.
i found that both these channels are coming from wenvoe, which is the east of wales.
would have thought i would have picked up one of the closer transmitter.
i'm based in the gallops in leopardstown.south dublin.
have looked thru book and none of the nearer transmitter have these channel numbers.
on my lg television i got network id 0X 3050.
have changed my mast amp tonight to fte type 40db.
the signal on the television improved by 8%.
weather not great at the moment and signal is 74% signal strenght and 100% signal quality. durning the summer months was picking up different signals due to the weather. if weather is better at the weekend will try twisting aerial around and see what i can pick up. hoping new mast amp may help. should i pick up more muxes from my location or am i lucky to be receiving what i'm getting.
don't see many reports coming from the south dublin,

Could be Arfon tx in NW Wales. Also has mux on C47.

It's only 2kw power, but I've seen it mentioned in threads before. Carries HD too.

BTW I'm not from your area. I'm sure someone who is will have more info.

Those are arfon, widely received in wicklow and used by many.
Put your aerial vertical and line it up correctly on the roof and you could have it nearly all the time.

I've seen it described as "freeview lite". Going by aerial direction around me (wicklow mountains) a lot used to be aiming towards Arfon - it was between that and Preseli depending on local topography. Also, I think that's where Dun Laoghaire and Bray aerials are pointing.

Aerials in Dun laoghaire point to kilkeel.

    Arfon is freeview light.
The Hd service is on ch 47.
For that you need a t2 receiver like the humax or the sagemcom I have.
You'll get Itv1 hd,BBC one hd [from tomorrow] and s4c hd and bbchd.
An mpeg 4 receiver on it's own won't see any of those channels, only a t2 receiver.

It's rumoured that s4c hd is for the scrapyard to be replaced by ch 4 hd which would be no harm.

    thanks,

Because it's a relay not a main transmitter.

Any chance you could post some photos of the Irish and UK channels on your Sagemcom? And how they can be incorporated into the one EPG using favourites etc?

I haven't bothered doing anything with channel lists on the sagemcom

Series link does not work on it for the irish channels but does it work on any receiver yet?

I posted a pic of the epg with the irish channels in it here somewhere already but cannot find it.
I know you can set up favourites but haven't bothered.

My main tv the sony freeview hd (ex403) allows you to switch channels around in the freeview hd easily anyway you like making a favourites feature redundant.

Could you post a few photos of the Sony with Irish and UK channels and the EPG then? We have a number of people on this and the sat forum wondering if they can get Saorview/Freeview on the one box, and it would be nice to have a few actual photos.
