I know this is the age old question but hear me out.
I've been an office based engineer for 2-3 years and now its time to go on the road. I have an old 98 Astra with 100k on the clock and its in need of scrapping.

My work have given me the go-ahead to spend 250 Euro a month on a car to use for work purposes which goes nicely with my plans to purchase a Honda S2000 in Jan for personal use.

So what do i go for?
Do i plan out the 250 over 3 years which gives me 9k to spend, or can i get a runaround car for 2k that will be reliable?

If i've neglected any important variables let me know.

    Look at bagernomics thread

Lots of nice cars for small money..

Although that budget could be down to luck.

that 250 needs to pay for fuel and repairs?

You you consider a small diesel van instead?

No point in having 2 x cars, have one van and one car..

    Something like any of these:

    Link 1
    Link 2
    Link 3

Cheap to buy, run and maintain..
