Canon gas cooker on the blink - advice or expected repair charge?

Another appliance on the blink :( We have a Canon gas cooker in which the main oven no longer receives gas, and the spark/timer feature is dead. The 4 hobs still have gas as does the small top oven though we use matches to light them. Will have to get a repair I think (it is outside warranty) - what would be going rate from RCII registered repair person does anyone know? I would try messing around with it myself, but gas makes me nervous!

if you are going to get liebherr out for the fridge ,ask them which of thier engineers are rgii - i think they have two so it might save you to get both jobs done by the same engineer

most are contracted to a few companys anyway so multi brands shouldnt be a problem once they are rgii

Jesus I can't believe it I fixed it like new! :):):) For the spark and clock, all it needed was a new fuse in plug. Turns out the main oven would not come on due to an auto cook feature on the clock that somehow got turned on and will not allow the main oven to light unless set to a timer or if the feature is disabled. Best feeling ever! I feel a little like this:

Hey all - slight additional problem - everything works except that the main oven will not get very warm or large in terms of flame size, no matter what the setting. Does this mean the thermostat or what I've heard called the ffd? Sorry I probably sound like an idiot to those in the know. Would posting a picture help?

edit: btw i got a little wire brush and ran it over the burner no difference. I've been fiddling around with the little metal rod to no avail too, no idea what I'm doing though!

edit edit: I should also point out that when I turn the knob for main oven, where as there used to be an ongoing spark until it lit itself, I now have to manually press the spark button and then the (low-burning) flame comes on.

Spoke to a few different companies and did my own research - they all seem to think its the FSD, which the price quoted for part appears to be €180 on average. Factor in the calloutcharge and its the guts of €300 for a five year old cooker. Time for a new one methinks?!
