    I'm buyin a 2004 Passat 1.9 TDI 130 BHP.
There is 98000 miles on the clock.
I'm getting it with 3 months warranty, while checking out the car i noticed there was condensation in the back lights and water in where the spare is. The garage said they would sort it just wondering will this problem reoccur.?

Usually in passats if there is water in the car, will be in the passenger footwell. Happens when a drain is blocked in the engine bay, under the pollen filter i believe. I have a 2002 passat and wheel well is dry, but have heard of it happening before. If they can resolve the issue, I would be happy enough with it, once they gurantee the work.

How much are you paying for it? I'm just curious.

The condensation and bootwell puddle I wouldn't think is too serious. If the garage is able to find were the seals are gone and can fix them, I wouldn't worry about it. You could ask to see where the problem was maybe? Just for reassurance.

Is the clutch is good condition? No judders?

Be careful - that is NOT a common problem for b 5.5 passats. It could have been hit from the rear and seals not replaced correctly - or a botch job on the repair.
I'm not trying to put you off or anything, there are thousands of cars with rear damage (at one stage or another) and there is absolutely nothing wrong with the cars.
Just make sure the garage can fix the issue correctly or all bets are off. It could be a simple fix but if not you will want the garage to be doing the work on their time. Sometimes these leaks can take ages to find.

Sounds a bit expensive to me.

Water/damp should not be apparent on a car for sale.

    Walk, no, run a mile.

    (And , it's too expensive!)
