I was wondering if anybody could clarify if there is VAT on PPL flight lessons.

I am taking PPL lessons out in Weston and I have asked a number of people who are unsure. The revenue link below says commercial training is VAT exempt.

    Is anybody sure?

It's academic anyway as you won't be able to claim any tax back for flying lessons if that's what you are thinking.

There will be plenty of tax paid on the fuel you use during the lesson though.

    no VAT on flight training.

Not exactly. VAT is not charged on Commercial training. In theory anyway.

Private training is not commercial training.
