    I've actually seen these cars being raced backwards.... in the 80's and 90's they raced them backwards on the Valkenswaard racecourse in Holland....

    Friend of mine in Holland has done it as well, including backwards with caravans!

    Saw a DS in that video somewhere.

    Yeah, like this (20 min in). Used to be a popular TV program in Holland though it looks ridiculously dated now :D

    BTW the reason they used the old DAFs for the racing backwards is that they all have the CVT automatic transmission which means they can drive as fast backwards as they can going forwards!!!
