Seven people have been arrested After riot Police stormed an Illegal rave in Central London which then turned nasty. Battles with police and ravers ensued, The rave is Still currently happening But with a Smaller attendance.

A suspected illegal rave was being held in a building in High Holborn, Central London. It was attended by over 600 youths. Police were called to the disused building which is bordered by High Holborn, Museum Road and New Oxford Street, at 2320 BST. But when they arrived they were met by a hail of bricks, bottles and other missiles as they attempted to disperse the Halloween revellers, many in fancy dress costume.

The building the revellers were occupying was an eight storey disused building and when police attempted to move the party goers on, they became aggressive. Several riot squad officers from the force's Territorial Support Group were then called to the scene.

A police officer was injured and needed hospital treatment to a head wound and three other officers were treated at the scene for injuries after bottles were thrown at them also a party reveller, a woman in her thirties was despatched to hospital after she became embroiled in the mayhem and needed treatment to a face injury.

It Was also Reported that some of the officers were terrified and had stood back and watched in the hope the revellers would become tired and just go home.

The rave continued into the morning, until around 0930BST with deafening hard techno pumping around the surrounding streets. Police have generally kept their distance whilst the sun came up and during the morning several tourists have joined in the rave.

Several roads around the building were closed and traffic chaos has ensued. Tourists are now flocking to the scene and some are attempting to join in the rave but police are not admitting any further revellers entry into the building and hoping those still present will just tire themselves out and go home.

Interesting wording of the title - as though it was these 'youths' that caused chaos, when by all accounts I've heard, things were going perfectly civilly (as with most "raves" I've been to) until the police turned up and tried to shut everything down.

There's no possible way the police may have dealt heavy-handedly with the situation and kicked off the aggression though, eh?

    What's a Halloween youth?
The scum of the Earth, they are.
They go to raves and do rave stuff.

Back in September we called them Harvester youth. Ooh. They really piss me off.

Fascinating story, Id say whoever owns all that gear is going to lose it. Im surprised the cops didn't call in a lot of reinforcements and crush it. Im sure they have plenty of backup in central London.
