Lads, a Lightforce striker 170 (Gun mounted) lamp (Variable is best according to Johngalway) is on the xmas wish list this year, where would ye recommend getting one of these in Ireland ?
I would consider getting one from the north or the UK but if there wasnt too much of a difference in price I'd rather spend my cash at home if possible.
    Any info much appreciated .....

Am just after being asked to go look for one for a mate of mine. Bought three 33amp batteries for the same family. I think I might sell the rifle :pac:

Got it at Opticswarehouse, he didn't want a dimmer so that made life a bit easier!

It's handy alright to be able to go out when you need to and not be wondering if your mates girlfriend will let ye :D

what kind of distance would a lightforce 140 throw, im thinking of getting a scope mounted one for nights lamping alone

Been looking at getting a single setup for lamping, now i have a lightforce 170 scope mounted as a back up to my lightforce blitz but between the light and batterys it a heavey enough load to be carrying about especially if your after bunnies and need to carry everything home.

So after reading a few reviews on new LED gun mounted lights i'm thinking of a nice christmas present.

Anyone have any of these new lights?

There is better lights on Dealextreme than that one. I think this would be a better thrower.
Seems like the LED torch mounted as a lamp is growing in popularity.
There is also the Led lenser L7 on special now for 25 in Arro hardware stores, that has a good throw.

Don't know when I last used mine. I used it a few times with the Tikka when I had it. Doubt I ever got much past 150 yards with it after foxes. 170 is the way to go IMO. If you do get the 140 beware of using a higher watt bulb as the reflector can become discoloured and reduce performance by a big margin, seen it done.

    Terrier,

I bought an EagleTac torch a while back, details are up here somewhere if you do a search. You'd see bunnies to shoot out to maybe 125 with it, weighs nothing and you can use rechargeable batteries. Great for shotgun lamping too.
