Using gas fire and back boiler

    Hi all,

Just moved into a new rented house. We have gas central heating, and a gas fire also, with a back boiler switch. I'm just wondering, is it cheaper to light the fire and use the back boiler switch, or just put on the central heating, or all the same? Complete novice with gas, cheers for any help!
