Hi everybody. I've been trying to diet and eat well, but I'm not sure if what I'm eating is balanced or not. I've read the stickies but still not sure.. here is what I've been eating recently, is there anything missing? Or anything I should substitute for something else? I'm trying to lose weight as well as be healthier.

Breakfast: Porridge with honey/raisins and a little milk
    Snack: Innocent smoothie (250ml)
    Lunch: Turkey salad/soup/scrambled eggs
    Snack: Yoghurt/Fruit
Dinner: Grilled chicken breast/steamed fish (both with vegetables and either rice or potatoes)

That is about 100 times healthier than I was before, but I'm not seeing any difference. Feeling a little discouraged, any advice would be welcome! Thank you.

To be honest your diet looks good, although I'm not too sure of the ingredients in the Innocent Smoothie - maybe someone with more knowledge can critique this.

As your goal is to lose weight, the only thing you need to worry about is the amount of calories you need on a daily basis, and aiming to consume less than this every day. Your sample diet below is healthy but you could be eating big portions (too many calories) and therefore you aren't seeing any weightloss.

Calculate how many calories you need daily. To do this use the calculator on g'em's post (the 2nd post on the 2nd page of the below sticky). From there, follow g'em's advice.

Innocent smoothies are mostly just pressed fruit apart from one or two of them. Much better to eat the actual fruit as you will get the vitamins and fiber that can be lost in the pressing process.

Id also ask how long you are at this changed diet? You say you are annoyed at not having seen progress (understandable), but if you only changed your habits a few days ago, or a week ago, then its not long enough.

Not much good fats in there apart from eggs. maybe some nuts as an alternative to the smoothie, some evoo over your salad etc. Its good though, be careful of portions.
