I'm sometimes seeing a small 'o' in the top LH corner on my iPhone next to the power bars and 3, not to often but it's there. Is this connecting to the O2 network as against the 3G network???

That's exactly it. Basically when you have no 3g service available it reverts to 2g/edge.

No, get that myself, it means its not connecting to the 3G signal on the 3 network, I find I can still surf the web with it though so dunno does it mean its on HSDPA instead.

It reverts to GPRS on Vodafone, Vodafone don't have edge only Meteor and o2.

HSDPA is quicker than 3G, the 0 means GPRS which is slower than both.

Cheers, that was what I was thinking it was doing as I could still get my E-mial.
But I'm still having to do the airplane mode thing'y to get 3G, a pain in the arse that is.

I do, I have internet access on GPRS on 3, if it's not working for you then call tech support and they can activate it.

For a minority of three's customers.

The majority get bull$hit stories from their tech support about how it's not available on best of both or how they are "aware and looking into the issue."

Minority?? Do you have a source that states it's a minority or just going by the people posting here who are in the minority numbers wise?

I thought they were telling people it was only available on smartphone plans?
