Paris to Rome

Im researching my honeymoon at the moment, and the second leg of our trip is to fly from Paris to Rome.

Ive looked on quite a few sites, and the only direct flight i can find is with Alitalia for E650. But i can fly through Heathrow with british airways and back to rome, for E140.

Surely there's cheaper 1 way flights somewhere. It just doesnt make sense. Am i missing something? Does anyone know if a low fares airline that does this direct flight?

ryanair fly direct from Beauvais (about an hour north of paris) to rome couple of times a day, sometimes as low as €10, that route ends on march 31st next year though

Should be about €50pp one-way. Leaves at 9pm and you sleep all the way to Rome :)

did you try the skyscanner.ie web site? If you don't know it searches pretty much all airlines going to and from your destination and has an option for indirect flights.

I just checked the trains. It would be a 12-13 hour journey with a minimum of one change in Milan. Cheaper, but not exactly pleasant.

One way fares on national/legacy airlines usually cost a fortune. Are you travelling on other flights during you trip? If so, you should combine that leg with the rest of the trip on one ticket and it will be much cheaper. Failing that, book a return flight and throw away the return leg.

I've taken it many times. The fact that you sleep through 9 hours of it means that it isn't as long as it sounds. Pay a little extra for a 4-person birth rather than 6-person if you want a little more space.
I'll try and find a link to single tickets...

do you have change trains? or is it direct?

easyJet do Paris to Rome flights - worth checking them out. However, it might be a bit too far to book it yet as sometimes they only upload flights 6 months in advance.

See my post above: At least one change in Milan.

Not always. The 7pm train is always direct.

Next Friday for example there's the 7pm train that gets you in at 10am the next morning.

    €97 or €107 1st class.

Probably not what you're looking for but I've always loved the more romantic travelling by train through Europe rather than always flying.

    http://www.artesia.eu
is the site for the joint SNCF/Trenitalia venture.

There's a direct train, leaves Paris around 7pm, arrive Rome Termini just after 10am. 215e for 2, in First Class
