A life less ordinary

A close family member of mine was killed in tragic cicumstances a while ago , a young person who had achieved so much in their short life that the presence they had in this life has touched so many people.
I feel compelled to put into words and share with others the life of this remarkable young person.
I have never written before but have the ambition to try , how successful are these type of books with the public? and would it be of any interest to publishers?.
The persons death and the manner of their death was of considerable media interest at the time and will be again in the near future.
    Thanks.

It depends on how much media interest there was at the time, and how sensational the circumstances were. It also depends on how well you write.

There was quite a big media interest at the time and ther will be in the near future also .
It wasnt the usual drink , drugs , gang, or boy racer way of passing that is the norm unfortuneatly for so many young people now.

Then I would gather up all the media coverage to show a publisher that there was public interest in it, and then show all the extra stuff you know because of the family connection.

How much writing have you done before? If you have a track record as a writer, this will help.

Prepare an outline, with details of what will go into each chapter, any photographs you will use, and write a couple of sample chapters.

One thing to be aware of: with a book like that, you'll have to go back and talk to everyone in the family who was connected, and it's possible you'll stir up a lot of bad memories, or even uncover things you'd rather not know. You may also find that some members of the family don't want this public, or at least, only a white-washed version.

I've met a lot of people who say "You should write a book about me" but when you start asking questions, they really don't want to talk.

Many thanks for you help and guidence , what you mentioned ticks all the boxes allright, As it happens it was a very close immediate family member anyway , a young person who only led a good fruitful life until tradgedy struck .
