Shoulder Problem

First off, not seeking direct medical advise. Just my best next step!

Anybody here have experience with rotator cuff injury?
Having problems with both my shoulders, especially when benching.*
Right at the front top of my shoulders.
The same specific spot both sides, small bit of pain around it but there's a definite spot where it worse.
Been at me a while now and it's getting worse, benched Wednesday, it's Saturday now and the pain is still here.
Really affecting my bench as well.
Strangely it doesnt affect most shoulder work, only maybe military press I think.
Could this be rotator cuff injury?
Any advice? Do I go to a physio? Seek an MRI or a consultation with a surgeon? Have good experience with SSC on Dublin for a osteitis pubis treatment and I know they have a very good shoulder specialist there.

'sounds' like similar injury that I have, (except having in both shoulders is a bit odd ?)

Just get it checked out mate, better pay 60 quid now than be out injured for the next year

I thought I had a rotator cuff injury recently, seemed to have the typical symptoms....self diagnosis. Turned out to be just a strained muscle, actually located in a different area to where I was experiencing the pain...educational for me. Two physio sessions sorted it.

I think seeing a physio initially is your best option.

I've pretty much the same problem but only in my right shoulder.Have it for a very long time but I only get it when I bench so I just stay away from it an it doesn't bother me.Bench pull is what I do now.Feel no pain in the shoulder at all.

Go to a sports physio. A good one. Try andy watson in the raglan clinic. I can't recommend him highly enough. Plus he's a lifter so he knows what your going through.

A physio advised me a while back - when I was having niggles in both shoulders - to place a small rolled up towel between my shoulder blades while benching. He explained that it allowed the shoulder blades room to move more freely and naturally during the lift. It certainly seems to work but I've pretty much givin up lifting "heavy" on the BP - too many niggles caused by bad form and, basically, not really knowing what I'm doing!

    Went to andy today.
Cent remember the name of the condition I have, but it's down to bad posture basically. Shoulders rolling forward so when benching the gap at my shoulder joint is too tight so muscle can't work effectively...or something like that.

Exercises to correct posture, strengthen upper back and some good advice will have me sorted. No chest exercise for a week or so though.

    Could be a lot worse!
Might do a course of pilates soon to help too, found it very good for a groin injury rehab before. Bit girly according to some but I'm man enough to go if that makes sense!

    Shoulder Impingement?

As said get it checked out and get some rehab/prehab exercises for it. Read all the thread now see you did that! :D

Key bit of advice is if an exercise causes you pain that is not good pain then stop the exercise and examine why the pain is being caused.

I hate a lot of shoulder work - bench is fine but above a certain degree of incline my shoulders get negatively affected.

Likewise skull crushers are a no-no for me but upright rows are fine. This is elbows.

No chest for a week - a week is not a long time mate - I would personally rather take more time off and have it 100% before going back into a currently uncomfortable exercise.

Yeah, some other fancy name involving scapulas and stuff!!

The week off doesnt bother me, i took last week too, so back to legs monday night and by time i recover it will be late in the week anyway! :D

I really want this right so going to follow all his advice, benching with the smith off the floor to get used to good shoulder and elbow position, warming up shoulders with all goods? i think thats what they are called, will help tighten up the joint.
Few more exercises to get posture right too.

Gotta learn to stretch properly too, and foam rolling. I remeember Transform posted a link for foam rolllers before, cant remember where though. Anyone know where to get?

yes foam roll shoudlers and ideally get a ball in on them to sort out the areas that are actually causing the pain.

Here is all the stuff i do myself and with clients -
