It is probably an optical illusion, tricking my mind's eye, but those 3 737s look to be too close together to give space to the wings.

What is the story with them sitting there?

They retire a lot of planes too, and some bases will have a spare aircraft from time to time.

The spare can come into alot of uses, if an aircraft goes tech its fully ready to go, or even if an early crew come back late (which this summer happened alot with the various strikes etc), the late crew can just take the spare and still manage to go on time. Saves alot of money in cancellations/delays I would think

APM is pretty much bang on. Plus their Marseille base hasn't actually closed yet so the aircraft there are still flying.

I'm afraid the Singapore 747 does not operate from Dublin any more...
However Air France Cargo do operate a 747 that arrives most Saturdays around 12am and departs around 4pm, These times are only approx and the aircraft may arrive and depart at different times as the cargo service is not as time critical as a passenger route would be..
Hope this is of some assistance....
