    Hi

I drive 04 Audi A4.. totally randomly it will start beeping from the boot sounds like alarm but its not. No lights come on and nothing stops it. Have to get up and drive it for it to stop for two or three hours.

Any suggestions what it might be.

Stupid question I know but you haven't got something in the boot or spare tyre well that could be creating the sound thats nothing to do with the car?

That is the alarm, the alarm beeps and is in the boot, does it beep when driving or when locked and parked up ?

    pippip:

No there is nothing in the boot that could beep :) you can hear the noise coming from a panel in the boot along where the fuel tank is

    Tossy:

when the alarm normally goes off so would the hazzard lights, this does not happen.

It only happens when parked up, clicking key fob does not stop it, if I get in to drive it, it will stay going for a few mins then stop for two or three hours

By any chance is your radio working correctly, have you changed it to an aftermarket one recently or have you pressed any buttons by mistake just before this problem started.

I remember my brother done something similar in his A4 and thats what it turned out to be as the warning tone only came through the rear speakers.

    Hope that helps

Sounds like the back up batteries in the siren are dying.
