Another UPC rip off

Why does UPC advertise the following kids channels as three separate channels?

TRTÉ & RTÉjr when both are, firstly, on the same frequency AND secondly are simulcasts of RTÉ 2?

Cúla4 when this is clearly a simulcast of TG4?

And what 5 y.o. is in charge of compiling the UPC EPG? It's a mess, and why is the ever so popular Angel TV still there?

    UPC

How is that a rip off exactly? Do you feel that you are paying too much with these few duplicate channels? If they weren't there what do you think they could be replaced with?

Because you can lock the box to kids stuff only, so the kids can Watch RTÉ2/TG4 when kids stuff is on, but not other times....?

False advertising... UPC advertise with 168 radio and TV channels on the Max HD pack when in fact there are less!

What I'm aware, there are loads of FTA channels on sat dedicated to kids so why not add these instead?

Erh, I'm basically paying for the same channel twice?

Besides, the structure of the way packs are set up are amazingly stupid with UPC as well. To get certain channels I'm forced to pay for genres I never watch. At least with Sky I can opt not to pay for e.g. Kids channels if I don't have kids, or News/Sports channels if I don't spend time with these...

Yeah, I'm not too happy with UPC but unfortunately I don't have much of a choice...

With UPC, no, but it's not so much the actual the few pennies I pay extra it's just that UPC is stuck in a time warp and don't care about customers.

I know that The UK market is bigger than the Irish, but look how Virgin has developed since changing its name from NTL

frank you seem to have a real problem with upc you keep looking for anything they dont do the same as sky and complain about it.

its easyier for kids to find the channels i know because i tell children to press 602 on the remote and all the kids channels are there and they get to pick what they want to watch.

as i said to you in another thread.
if you care so much about your tv you should have checked up on it before moving.

Originally 601/2 where to carry the Cartoon Network, when RTE got a bit upset about the drop of viewership and thus advertising to Nick etc RTE persuaded UPC to give them the 601 slot, Cula 4 was an after thought.

Its similar to the nonsense of Setanta being on 105 & 401.

Certainly nothing to do with protecting your children - look at 131 as an example........

Of course you have a choice. If you do not like the service then cancel.
