Mitsubishi DVD Navigation system

    Just bought a fresh jap import really lovely car but it has a dvd navigation system and i wanted to know if its possible to reconfigure it to work here Its a
    Mitsubishi CU-V5000 dvd navigation system with built in screen on the dashboard
    It comes with a dvd system under the passenger seat but tried to play a normal dvd and cant seem to get it to work , the system will come on when driving but its all jap streets and symbols really cool buy useless unless driving in japan

    Can i get it to work here seeing that its a navigation system , it seems to work buy dvd disc
    Anyone out there with a similar model
