I would like an avatar, I really would. But I just don't have the motivation / energy / choosing capacity / internet searching abilities / anything to get one. For God's sake, look at my subject title! I'm clearly a woman in need of assistance.

There's the thing. Can you add your own avatar? I think you can, but not sure how. I found the list with loads of custom boards.ie avatars. Haven't looked very hard though in fairness.

It's just that, sometimes people have striking avaters and I always associate them with their posts, as opposed to most posts which I read without checking the author. Maybe it's not a good idea, but I'd like it if I got associated with my posts.

You have to be a subscriber to have a custom avatar. Otherwise you just have to use the boards ones if you want one.

I've tried numerous avatars on yahoo answers and buzz they deffo affect responses. Anything cute like animals is a winner as are pleasant looking faces hinting at sexiness.
I put up a cartoon red devil once, big mistake....people subconsciously don't like it.

But they're really funny. Something about the human-like expression of an emotion in an animal when the animal in question most likely had something totally different in mind. The cat doesn't really want a cheeseburger. The dog doesn't understand the implications of him falling down and getting his photo taken, to be joined with a caption later. And, best part, nobody gets hurt / embarrassed, etc. Don't get you guys who want to come down so hard on people who get enjoyment out of these kind of pics.
