Just thought I'd get people's opinions on which away game they really dread every summer?

Quite a bit depends on what level of team you go out to play. There are some clubs that have a one or two of 'unfriendly' teams while the rest of the club is spot on.

North County for me. I play down the leagues and the lads they have on their lower team are complete bunch of w*nkers. I heard horror stories about them from every other team in the division this year. I wouldn't tar the entire club with that brush though. When I've played against them up the leagues they've always been spot on

How did you come up with them 10 teams?

Simply thought of some places I really don't like playing at for a variety of reasons. I realize that those 10 aren't going to suit everyone (especially with CYM not there) but as a lower division player it's based on the clubs against whom I've played the most. Must stress that its mostly based on location and facilities, not what I think of the club itself and to be fair I've included my own club on the list.

Its not on the list but Bird Avenue would get my vote. Nothing quite like fielding on an outfield littered with broken glass and empty condom wrappers...! A dead mat, massively long boundaries, poorly kept grass; i neither enjoy batting, bowling or fielding on the place. Thankfully havent played there for a couple of years.

Malahide should get a mention as well, based purely on the utter nightmare of trying to park your car there...

Other than that there arent many other places that I dont like playing in. I used to hate Marley Park due to its lack of facilites but that has improved a lot since the pitch moved. Theres a few places i enjoy less than others as there is usually he chance of some agro, but thats usually caused by one or two individuals and not a representation of the team as a whole or the ground.

Up until this season i would have had Rush on that list based purely on the fact that in nigh on 20 years of playing cricket I never once won a match in Rush at any level from under 11s right thru to mens cricket, but thankfully I broke that duck this season so now I can look forward to going there in future!

    Umm....where's Merrion?

Also, for junior levels, travelling to Wexford is a bit of a nightmare. Nice guys, though.

Meh I wouldnt have said Wexford is the worst away trip tbh, especially if you can go via the M50. Bagnelstown is far trickier to find!

I've never had the pleasure of making the trip to Bagnelstown.

Wexford just stands out as being particularly far. They did have a bbq after the match this season, so I didn't mind so much!

Who voted Clontarf? The only day of the year I get to indulge my fantasy about playing international cricket!
