I doubt if he was personally responsible for scouting out all these signings but I guess if he's signed off on them then he can claim some credit.

In regards to Bale, remember he was signed to play as left back, which I think we can all agree is not his best position. It was Harry who developed him into the attacking left midfield that he is today.

IMO the only one's I'd rate that he signed were

    Tom Huddlestone
    Aaron Lennon

    Benoit Assou-Ekotto
    Dimitar Berbatov

    Gareth Bale
    Luka Modric
    Heurelho Gomes

    Vedran Corluka

The others were average or just didn't fit in with our style of play.

    Jermaine Jenas
    Didier Zakora
    Jonathan Woodgate
    Grzegorz Rasiak
    Mido
    Ricardo Rocha
    Darren Bent
    Giovani dos Santos
    Roman Pavlyuchenko

If it wasn't for injuries, woodgate would be a regular today.

You're right but given his injury history it was a risky signing.

Still, I'll always be grateful for the League Cup Winning goal against Chelsea.

in fairness, pav does has his moments, but I wouldn't under rate him, there has been many occasions where he Wud dig us out of a hole, yes maybe we can say he has more off days than good days, but, he is a game changer

Agree, but I was going by the statement of them being average or not suiting our style of play ;)

Will never forget that goal, went mental in the pub, raging I wasn't at it.

Lennon, Jenas and Huddlestone were all signed before he joined us, no? The scouting was certainly done before his time.
