Im due my baby in feb and will more than likely be getting rent allowance

Only thing is i want to get back to work ( part time ) after my baby is born

If i do and only get part time do i lose my entitlement to my rent allowance ??

    yes and no....
you can earn up to €75 a week and still keep your full rent allowance but if you work over that amount for every €2 you earn €1 will be taken off your rent allowance. eg. if your earn €150 a week your rent allowance will be reduced by €37.50

Can you confirm this is correct? I earn 50 euro a week but am paying 250 euro rent myself. I've been through the citizens information and welfare pages but find them baffling.

you can earn €75 a week without it affecting your rent allowance at all, it was this time last year when i stoped recieving rent allowance and at that time every €2 i earned over €75 my rent allowance would be reduced by €1 but from looking on welfare website it has changed since then.
im sure this will change in the up coming budget.
    sorry for any confusion

    here is the info...
    Additional Household Income Disregard

Additional Household Income Disregard is a certain amount of your household income which is not taken into account. €75 of any additional household income is not taken into account. Also, 25% of your additional household income over €75 is not taken into account. There is no upper limit on the amount that can be disregarded.
