On etenders.gov.ie Irish Rail have a large volume of contracts published yearly. However, the details of the awarded contracts are only published for a tiny portion of these. How come?

Is this normal to take so long to publish? Surely there have been a large number of contracts awarded.

    Depends on the contract really.

Only ones above the EU Official Journal Threshold have to have award notifications (legally). The Thresholds vary depending on the type of contract.

How is the threshold defined by the type of contract? Some of these contracts are quite significant.

they're hardly going to publish the fact that most of the contracts went to "friends of the firm" now are they ;)
