low temp

    My little 16mth old boy keep having a low temp about 34.1-34.5 deg,
    have gone to the doctor a few times and he got his bloods done etc but nothing
    has come bk, checked with different thero and all read the saqme. Anyone experience this?

    I would go back to your doctor again because your childs temp should not be that low. There are a few medical condition that low temp is a symptom of but you need to discuss that with your doctor.

    Other than that just make sure you house is kept warm and that your child has enough clothes on to keep warm. Maybe invest in a room thermometre to make sure the room is at the correct temp.

    What kinds of thermometers are they? The most accurate method is anal closely followed by ear. Home thermometers are only calibrated in the factory and the accuracy is rarely very good on them (barring mercury glass thermometers). That said having the same error on numerous thermometers is unusual.

    Maybe ask your GP for a referral to a specialist.

    Taking temp with the braun ear one and have tired other peoples one and they read all the same. He is always in great form, sleep alot aswell, 16-17hrs a day, I have being back to doc 5 times and went to A&E twice, had had bloods, ecco done, and all came back normal......the result was must be normal for him! The house is always warm, his head could be very warm and the rest of the body cold.....its just what is wrong! you read up on it and it sends your mind RACING!!!!!!

    Well it does seem like they have given him a good looking over. I am one of these people who always has cold hands and feet no matter what the temp is. Just keep an eye on him and if you notice any other symptoms bring him back. Better to be safe than sorry.
