The Germans have been talking about changing the conditions of the Lisbon treaty in regard to EU member states runaway National debts. Which would involve servere sanctions to be imposed on rogue states!

Will you vote again on this treaty?

Lets vote yes to have our voting right taken away!

That would be a hard one for the Government to sell.

Does it mean that Europe can take over from FF when all the deluded muppets vote them back in ?

    If so, bring it on!

I think it's fair to say the EU have been calling the shots for some time now.

Was it not the French and Germans who, after the Treaty was rejected here, told us Lisbon was "non negotiable"?

There was talk of the Govt looking for a bailout from the EU start of next year. Dan O'Brien was talking to someone he knows from Brussels, except he now lives in Athens, overseeing the cuts the Greeks are being made implement.

Lisbon 3 or no Lisbon 3 if, or when, we need a bailout we'll lose a lot of our own decision making powers regardless.

Rather be governed by Brussels than FF. The bailout'll be the IMF anyway. I bet the countrys' actually bankrupt just it hasnt been made public yet.

These brash statements saying we'd be better of being solely run by the EU are just silly. Be careful what you wish for.

It's really not that hard to check whether there's an existing thread on a topic. In the case of an EU treaty, it's likely to be in the European forum:
