Fugitive freeview channels

I am located in SW Wexford and on rare occasions this summer I was getting Chan 11, 19 and 82 plus another a few other non-regular channels. I have not seen any them for maybe the last 3 or 4 weeks. They usually appeared late at night and in the early morning, mostly at weekends. In the mornings the signal would get weaker and eventually the screen would freeze and disappear if I changed channels temporarily.
Is it likely that I was getting these channels from a more distant transmiktter than Preseli? If so, could I do something that would enable me to get them more reliably?
I normally have good reception of a number of Freeview channels, this morning only Chan 12 was receivable, the situation had corrected itself by 10.00am.

Is Mt Leinster still blocking some Preseli channels? If so, is it possible to screen an aerial from interference by Mt Leinster?

If by saying Ch 11, 19, 82 you mean Sky Three, Dave and Sky News you are refering to Broadcast channel 45 from Preseli. Sadly this is the same channel that RTÉ NL insist in jamming. Ch12, called "Yesterday" is on Broadcast Ch 49 from Preseli. However you should also get signals on broadcast channels 42, 43 & 46 which tend to be much stronger. These would include all BBCs and ITVs and many other stations. I would suggest you try a rescan on your TV to see whats out there.

Thanks Gerry Wicklow for your reply. Seeing that RTE is blocking channel 45 do you know why I occasionally received those Sky channels, etc? Which I recall mostly dissapeared at the same time of day, like 8.30 am, sharp. Was RTE off the air before then? Lastly, is screening the aerial a non-runner?

I do receive all the BBC, ITV, etc, channels and I regularly re-scan to ensure the settings are up to date.

As Mrs Murphy might say, I should be thankful for small Murphys.
