...........could we see Punk joinig Cole & King for a commentating role while he recovers from his hip injury? I quiet enjoyed his commentary during the Ziggler/Bryan match Monday night. Maybe that was just to build up some sort of feud between Punk and Bryan.

Well smackdown have 3 commentators, why can't Raw - what you think?

i was going to post this in the other thread, think that is a brilliant idea! he is amazing on commentary, briliantly funny, and vince clearly isnt controlling what he is saying! he is a natural....would love to see him there.....keep him in the public eye, and could easily build a feud around it!

It would make perfect business sense too, I mean he is just back on Raw like 2 weeks, and if he were to be out til December/January it would suck. Having him commentating every week would produce some great moments between him and Cole/King.

I would reckon that he was due for a big push on Raw, but i can see him winning the Rumble next year (early I know, but what u gonna do)

I just hope that if it happens that he's not too good in the sense that Vince will want to see him stay there. Punk still has so much more to offer in the ring.

That'd be my one concern too - that, if he makes himself pretty much indispensable behind the booth he won't get built into proper feuds. But, at the moment, he's on the shelf and being used effectively to make a very bland commentating team rather more interesting. I'd like to see him more too, and it would help get him over with the more casual RAW fans.

Has it been suggested officially or is this just an idea Irisheteve?

I hope he has a feud with Daniel Bryan.

Punk played commentator plenty in ROH while still being active. I would not worry about that even slightly. But agreed, he was indeed excellent.

I really hope he does this. I'm getting really sick of King and Cole. Need something to freshen up the commentary on Raw.

Is their any decent source claiming Punk will miss time? Not rubbish like Wrestlezone, PW Pix or LOP, something like Meltzer, PW Torch, Pro Wrestling. Net or even PW Insider?:confused:

I read on pro wrestling.net that they said he wouldn't be out longer than the end of the year. So he will be back in time for the rumble.

He will probably be the surprise return, that seems to be customary with every RR nowadays

The Observer said that he got an MRI done on his hip this week to try to find what's wrong with it, but until he gets the results he wouldn't know if he has to take time off or not

Looks like WWE are putting Punk back on commentary. This is great news!

    - CM Punk is now considered a sure thing for WrestleMania 27 after choosing rehab over surgery on his torn glute muscle. Punk is scheduled to return in January but it's believed he will be doing announcing on TV until he can return to the ring.

:D This would be THE best announce team to have:

It could get him over very nicely as a face with being an anti-cole. :)

Am I right in saying he's doing commentary on Superstars this week? His Twitter seems to imply so...
Yes, Superstars will be mostly watchable tomorrow due to my sharp tongue. You're welcome.

Turning down surgery is the worst move for Punk in the long term. So many wrestlers have chosen the short term gain and suffered long term pain. I hope I'm wrong but it nearly always happens.

Yep, just read the results for Superstars there and CM Punk is commentating on the Raw matches with Scott Stanford

    Scott who-now?

    Scott who-now?

Scott Stanford. He's the play-by-play commentator for Raw matches on Superstars.

I actually just thought Cole and Matthews did the Superstar matches tbh...

Nope, that's NXT. For Superstars, Grisham and Striker call SD matches and usually Stanford and King call Raw matches
