Sorry but it's a dinosaur of a hotel, stayed there recently and was not all that impressed. Was like stepping back into 1980's Ireland.

Dinosaur is right, was about to head down to a charity function a few weeks ago but they wanted another 50% single supplement on top.

Savman is spot on I always heard that this was one of the top hotels in Ireland not any more it should be on reeling in the years it really is like something out of the eighties in saying that the staff were very nice and the food was excellent

Stayed there back in 99 and enjoyed it. Can imagine its a bit dated now alright. I still think its a bargain.

Stayed there in 1998 and it was a great place. Accommodation and food was top notch. Went back in 2003 and the place just looked shabby and the food was lousy, e.g. cold/undercooked/overcooked/burnt but never cooked properly. The staff at that time were mostly foreign (WHICH I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BTW BEFORE SOMEONE GETS ALL HOIGHTY TOIGHTY ABOUT RACISM ) but they spoke very little english and were unhelpful which is not the Cead, Mile, Failte this country's hospitality industry pretends to care so much about.

You can do so much better hotel wise in Killarney nowadays as their American market has all but evaporated and they might be desparate for business now that the summer is well and truly over.

Number 38 of 40 hotels in Killarney on tripadvisor. Not good

This deal doesn't seem to cover Saturdays, as you must book 2 nights if you want that night (on their site anyway)!?

I think it does cover Saturdays, although it's not 100% clear. For more certainty, you could book through alpharooms.com, who have 2 night's B&B for 2 for €5 more (c. €135). Not sure what they're charging for 1 night.
