Redundancy?

    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone can confirm a few things for me? I have read the FAQ thread and most of the handbook it directs you to but i'm still not 100% on a few things.

Basically, My job announced some redundancies a while back and offered a voluntary package ( obv before involuntary came in ). Im in my mid twentes and had decided to change my whole life anyway, I started a part time degree in DIT and was actively searching for a more interesting position so i applied and was accepted.

So i am leaving work under voluntary redundancy term's. I obviously get a leaving package which while its a lot of money to me at this age is truly not that much in the grand scheme of things. I am also about ten months into a 12 month lease on my apt.

So here are the things i'm wondering / worried about ( I'll be brutally honest ):

Do I need to conceal my lump sum from my usual current account? ( in case the social ask for a statement )
I've worked for this company for 3 years, which job seekers do i get? does my "voluntary" status hinder me here?
Do i get help with my rent? I can't break the lease and i don't think i can return home. ( rent is 475 p/m if that matters )
My course while private is in DIT, does this affect me in either a positive or negative way? ( fee's 2,500 per year ) ie can i claim fee's back or does this course allow similar treatment to a FAS course?
Finally, when i finish ( a few weeks time ) what do i need to bring with me ie forms etc to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible.

Many thanks for any help here, I realise some of these answer can be found by reading up but i still wouldn't have confidence in them unless someone actually told me exactly how it all works

    Cheers
    HF
