In addition to the November 29th three hour Raw, which will mark the return of the King of the Ring tournament, there will also be two more three hour Raws in the near future. The first will take place on November 15th with an "Old School" theme. The WWE website describes the show with the following: "WWE throws it back Old School when Monday Night Raw takes place live from Hershey's GIANT Center! See your favorite Raw/SmackDown and WWE Legends Live in Hershey!" Additionally, the December 13th show will be the Slammy Awards broadcast.

Twill's Two Cents: Anytime a Raw broadcast can have a theme and a special show of some sort, it is a positive thing. I am really looking forward to the King of Ring on the legends they have for the 15th, that show coul

Can. Not. Wait for these.

Hope it really is proper old school raw.

Seeing as they have these listed on the wweshop:

W02772X.jpgand W02757X.jpg

Hope this and the KOTR raw become the most watched raws in years. :D

It would be really cool.

And if they do it as well as they done the raw 10th anniversary, who knows what could happen. :)

They would need to get the crowd red hot, really hot before the rock would come out.

If they werent caught up in the moment they could start chanting you sold out or something.

Hope they go with a really old school titan tron :D

The Rock having a new film to shill right at the same time makes the possibility of an appearance realistic, which makes a change!

JR making an appearence and feuding with Cole? Just sayin'! If the don't use the old Raw intertitles and logos it'll be criminal, though.

i have fond memories of when i was in school we used to try and do that theme. It was great:

"Is the life and the backs inachurna ME,
Gettin' dropped on my arms,
Is the soul in me,
You wont find me passin - see me lame green skinned..

OH DONT FIND-da-FLOOR IN YOUR EYE!"

It's my life in the box and charred to beat
Taking chalk in my arms it's the soul of me
You want fire, ashes see me lying face down.
What has caused the thorn in your eye?

May I be the first to say that here's what WWE will put on :
IRS and Million Dollar Man
Mabel in the men on a mission outfit
Goldust in his old outfit
Bret Hart
Maybe a pre-tape from HBK
if he's back HHH in his horse riding pants
Miz and Morrison (reluctantly tagging) dressing up like the rockers
Maybe Papa Shango will return

I bet NO Austin, Rock, Taker, Foley, 123 Kid, Razor....
In short WWE won't lift a finger for it

PLEASE Prove me wrong Vince!

Ah better days :o

Back when you'd admit to watching Wrestling proudly.I can't muster any enthusiasm for this, the last few 3 Hour specials have been dreadful.WWE can't put together a great 2 Hour Raw so why do a 3 hour one.As I said many times hope HHH comes back & stops doing that stupid campaigning for Linda & that Ricockulous Senate Run.With CM Punk injured he's needed now.
Almost forgot The Rock & Stone Cold in a PG environment ain't what I want.God when we look back on the PG thing in a few years we'll be talking about it as if it was a very sad time to watch Wrestling.

God that Smackdown! theme brought me back to saturday mornings.
That was THE theme for the weekend. :D

My friend described it one day as being like a parent of a child (strangely) and seeing them go through a phase, hoping they will come out of it.

And another is when your favourite musical artist brings out an utter sihte album and you rather the old stuff and hope they go back to making music like they used to.

I......don't get it. (Mr Benoit that is)

Just because a show is aimed at kids and has certain boundaries doesn't mean it has to be crap. Sure the entire Hulkamania Era was PG and that was awesome. With Batista, HHH, HBK and now The Undertaker gone, new talents are being made. Look at Way Barra. He's holding his own in the main event after only being introduced to the WWE as a rookie on NXT in February. WWE have done something I thought unthinkable -- they've finally made me care about a storyline with John Cena in it.

Maybe it's because I turned off watching RAW for a while but since Hell in a Cell I've thought that WWE's programming has been really enjoyable. When's the last time we could actually discuss a storyline and it's possibilities?

I should also mention that WWE are building to their future. The future's not here yet. But there'll be a fresh crop of main-eventers in 5 years. It'd still be PG but there'd be a ton more wrestlers that can draw. The question is 'do you want to stick by WWE for the next 5 years'?

I also think if you watch wrestling with your mates it's far more enjoyable than in a scrutinizing watch by yourself.

Prove me wrong was a phrase used by chris benoit a few times.

Cant remember in what specific context though to be honest, just remember him saying it. :o

Every day, its a burden i carry around with me.
What if i hadve done something different, could i have said something to help, could i have lent an ear, a shoulder to a cry on?

The simple answer is
No.
I didnt know the man.

All joking aside, i liked that whole "Prove me wrong" thing. :)

Looks like the honky tonk man wont be there...

WWE News: One WWE legend says he will not be part of the Old School Raw
Nov 10, 2010 - 05:45 PM
The Honky Tonk Man issued a statement on Wednesday to say that he will not be part of the Old School WWE Raw on Monday. "HTM and WWE could not come to terms for the Old School Raw show upcoming," reads the statement. "HTM informed WWE yesterday that he no longer had a desire to participate on the event." For more on Honky, visit HonkyTonkMan.net.

Powell's POV: I assumed it was a done deal when Honky "stood up for WWE" in a video, but apparently they were unable to strike a deal.

he will be doing ads for bald wax soon alright.

I see that as possibly being more of a disappointment for HTM.

He obviously pulled out of the wrestlezone gig for this one night at raw, so he must have been expecting more of a pay out.
Whether it was him or WWE who ended the negotiations (they make it sound like it was his).

Imagine if he thought something like "Oh well, at least i have a gig in ireland..."

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,013 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

lol CM, shocking that HTM didn't work out a deal with WWE before dropping WZ. Reminds me of when Lesnar quit WWE, then went knocking on MN Vikings' door

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

Yeah maybe he shouldve finalised a deal with wwe for monday.

its interesting to think that might not sound like huge news to someone else reading that.
"oh, honky tonk wont be on raw.. shame.. oh well.. whats for dinner?"

Where as to us it is part of something bigger.

It seems to be old old school as in 80s and early 90s. Don't think any of the attitude era guys will be there. They were using the old blue and gold WWF logo in the ad.

Yeah, I think they mean old school as in the kid-friendly era before the Attitude era.

Every time I've gotten my hopes up for a decent Raw in the past few years I've been badly let down.

Just put the Sheik in a room with his fellow old schoolers, put a hidden camera in there, and it'll be worth the 3 hours alone. :pac:
