Hey guys im getting a holograph for my Magpul masada, and I was wondering which is better in terms of battery life and other stats, 551's or 552's, 552's use AA batteries where 551's use tiny litho batteries.

I can't offer any quantitative data on battery life but from my (limited) experience an 552 EoTech clones can run for quite a long period on standard AA batteries. Another big plus with AAs is that they are readily available so a 552 is a better option as the button cells (LR44?) used in the 551 models can be difficult to source cheaply and are fiddly to change in the field. The 552/553/557 clones are also better suited aesthetically to AEGs the size of the Masada, 551 proportions look much better on SMGs/PDWs. However, if you decide on a 551-sized EoTech I suggest you look at the XPS models as they run on CR123A cells that are easy enough to find and are far easier to change out.
