Buying a sewing machine

Has anyone any hints on buying a sewing machine? I am willing to spend about 150 EURO. I dont know much about the machines just the basics. I was told that Brother machines would be the most reliable and easy to source parts. Once i get the machine I hope to do a course on dressmaking. Any help would be great?
