    Hey everyone.

    Just a quick question. If I already gave the filled up form for the social benefits how long it will take to get my first payment?

    Also I'll be away for 3 weeks (going back to Hungary for Christmas, I'm from there). Is there any possibility that sb will pick it up for me or can I hold it up if I have a good reason?

    Is it jobseekers allowance.benefit you have applied for?it depends on the office you have a applied to ,different waiting times in them all.You are supposed to notify social welfare if you are going on holiday iirc it can only be for two weeks.the payment only stays in your post office account for 3 days.

    I haven't applied for any of them yet. Just about to fill up the form for benefits. The ticket was bought long time ago. I think the holiday would be only two weeks missing as I'm going on the end of the week so I can collect it then and when I'm back I'll be able to contact it again.

    It is good to know that it stays there only 3 days. Thanks for your help. Do you think I can talk to them about that two weeks time? I don't mind if I won't get any for that two weeks. I don't need them to hold it for me just I would like to have it when I get back.

    Do you have any idea about the awaiting time? I know you said it depends on the office but just aprox?
