    Hi,

Just wondering if there's a minimum age/weight that they'll accept for cattle at the factory?

Have cattle ranging from 19 to 32 months and want to know how many can be sent straight to the factory.

    Thanks

The one thing you want when sending cattle to the factory is well conditioned cattle. Generally speaking your cattle should be over 550Kg but again this depends on the breed of stock.

No harm is getting an experienced guy to look them over before making a decision

Don't forget that some factories aren't taking cattle over 30 months (still). something to bare in mind

also it depends on breed, AA or Hereford would be ok over 550kg, Britis Freisan over 600kg and most holsteins would need to be over 650kg to leave anything

Having said that the difference between sending a bullock to factory when he is ready and when he is not quite ready can be huge
