Im not long living in dublin and dont know any trustworthy mechanics in the area..need to get my exhaust fixed and 1 new tyre...

went to fastfit they said i need to get the exhaust the long part under the car and a tyre cost would be 280 euros

    then went to.

Atlas Tyres they said i need to get the exhaust the whole lot and a tyre total cost would be 300 euros..

im totally confused which one to choose and whats going on...

anybody know a mechanic that would be better to go to than the Big chains.

where in Dublin 6 are you? - there's a guy I use down a side alley near the Barge pub in Ranelagh, I'd recommend him.

if you are coming from town you cross the bridge to head towards ranelagh (The Barge will be on your right) .... take a left onto the canal...and take a right (narrow alley) ...under the Luas bridge.....he's on the right ...cant miss him - I dont have a number to hand as I live nearby and just pop in when I need to.

EDIT: as for tyre's - there's a tyre place further down the same alley.

Most mechanics don't fit exhausts or tyres. You could try roundabout tyres at Walkinstown Roundabout for the tyre . I have found them to be fair and honest in the past. He might suggest some one for the exhaust.
