Airbag Kaput - Honda CRV

    Need advice - car is now 6 months out of warranty and have just got a warning light showing airbag problem. Took it to the garage and they advise that the unit which controls all the airbags in kaput and needs to be replaced. This unit will cost €317 to be replaced. I have ordered it and will arrive on Friday.

    What do you think my chances are in getting Honda to replace the unit free of charge? The guys in the garage said they were gobsmacked that the unit had failed - they had never seen it before. I called Honda HQ today and they are considering it.

    Personally I can't see how they will deny me the cost. What do you think I should do if they refuse. Personally I think the car should be off the road until its gets sorted and Honda should give me a loan of a car. Last thing to say is that car had a full Honda service history which is up to date.
