We were given a VERY rough estimate of about 900 for a 3cyl 35, that's nearly a fully engine rebuild needed though so i presume it'll be a lot more

have you priced a 40 series engine? They fit into 7610 ok so I presume they'll fit into a 5ooo.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

6300 euro for a brand new engine from a new holland dealer. thats worth twice as much as what the tractor is haha

Well that sorts that one so, have a look on ebay uk for the bits. I saw 66 done locally for around 1200e, but that was 2 years ago and the head was only planed, no valves or guides AFAIK.

There is one good brand of piston to use, can't remember what they are now, maybe someone else on here might know it. Is it a 5000 engine or a newer replacement, like ribbed block?

Got a 4000 completely done with Engine Spares, Lanesboro back in 2003.
I think it was around 1600-1700 euro but that included a new block.

They did a super job though.

I got my MF168 done with them a few years back too - cost roughly the same. The do quality work.

Just wondering what the cost would be for a ford 3000, I imagine it to be roughly the same as the 5000 mentioned in the thread, but seeing as it is 3cyl I am wondering if it is any cheaper

You can still buy a short block for the 3000, around 1500e. Good value I think.
