Weight loss and appetite

    Hi,

So the thing is I have been dieting (well incorporating a new way of eating, eating clean) since middle of Sept and I have lost about 17lb which I know is good.

However, I have found over the last 2 weeks or so that I have very little appetite, in fact I have to make myself eat at certain times e.g lunch.

I think this lack of appetite is because I have cut out all junk from my daily diet, no choc no crisps etc
I have gained weight over the years due to my love of junk  and I suppose too much drinking on nights out which leads to terrible carb loaded eating the next day or so:eek:

So now, since I am not eating the junk, I have my cravings under control but now don't feel hungry!!

So my long winded question is:

I have calculated that my daily calorie needs minus 15% for weight loss is about 2000, I am struggling to eat 1200. Will i stop losing weight?, will my body go into "starvation mode",? do I have to force myself to eat more calories?

I hope this makes sense and please go easy on me!
I also do exercise nearly everyday, walking/gym/C25K

Hi Betsy, congrats on your amazing weight loss. 17lbs since mid-September is amazing. I have been doing the same as you (eating better, exercising more) since the beginning of September, hoping for the same results and somehow have lost absolutely nothing (see my thread Why has nothing happened?)
I'm just wondering if you have any tips/secrets which helped you do so well coz I am so frustrated at this stage? Sorry I can't help with your query but as you can see I'm completely at a loss with all this!

I read your post just there actually Melanie and I guess you need to post up your daily diet.

I have lost weight quickly as I have a lot to lose, so if you are pretty much a healthy weight it will come off slower

My tips would be loads of water at least 2L daily, more when you exercise and very little carbs (by this I mean pasta, bread and rice etc)..in fact I would just cut them out completely and get carbs from veg and nuts etc

So post up what you eat daily and we can tell you more!!

Well done on your gym dedication! Have you taken measurements?
Do this tonight too, waist and bust and hips
