Amazon order cancellation

    Well guys as not being an experienced amazon user I made a mistake. I order a lower and a higher value item off them with a free delivery. But I found today that the higher one cheaper so I thought about cancelling it. As I saw the lower one instantly entered into a dispatching soon status with no cancel order option available. I wrote them an email instantly that I want to cancel my order. What is going happen now? Will they cancel it? Or they dispatch the item to me and I have to send it back? I'm furious now, they at least should have mentioned this on the order cancelling page! What you reckon? Thanks!

    Do your research before hitting that submit order button! Amazon are a very efficient online retailer and ship items very fast. You should be able to send it back at your expense under distance selling rules (you have 7 days).

    You are definitely right mate! I just don't get the whole system. The pocket diary and hdd were to be shipped tomorrow I took the hdd away and diary is shipped instantly and funds taken? I'm not arguing with you. So I'm not happy and sending the item to me. Are they quick? The order was placed on 22nd. Nothing happened. I just keep it I'd lose my and their p&p if I sent it back.

    Check your order online.

    Until the status is that they are preparing the order for delivery you can change quantities or delete items completely.

    After that you have to take delivery. For returns you print out a label to attach to the parcel. The website will guide you through this process. The label has a bar code and authorisation details on it so they can track the return. Because it is your fault the postage cost is your responsibility.

    The money will get credited to your credit card within a few days.

    I once mistakenly ordered two copies of the one book - so there is the voice of experience in this! Everything about the return went completely smoothly.

    If you really don't want the item ,don't accept delivery.
    I had a problem a while ago ,after I made a mistake and was told just to not accept delivery.
