    Hi all
    Another Mondeo problem. 02 TDCi.

Driving into work this morning and the car lost power . Flashing coil light came on. Pulled in to hard shoulder, turned off car and restarted with no issue.
Lost power just when I went to overtake a lorry…..just as I accelerated. It was almost as if the brakes were pressed. That kind of feeling if ye get me.
All injectors have been replaced either by me or by previous owner.
Anybody have any issues like this before? Could it be the injector pump on the way out?

Is there a whooshing sound when you accelerate ? If so it's a hose off the intercooler or a split hose.

No whooshing sound. Just loss of power when I accelerated. Drove the other 20 miles into work after that with no issues, but I didn't accelerate hard after that.............

I don't think the high pressure pumps in them give trouble. Was it down on power the whole time? Maybe a blocked fuel filter. Is it serviced regularly?

Old car with split hose I'd bet.

Ya. Always serviced regularly. Fuel filter was only changed recently, maybe 2 or 3k ago.
Looking like this split hose I think. Have done a bit more research since an earlier post said it could be a split hose.
I will get it checked out tomorrow or Thursday.

you,l more than likely be needing injectors,, more than likely if you drive the car easy it dosent happen,, only if you put the foot down the cars stalls , and will start up straight away?most common problem on the tdci,
just get a leak off test done
    :(

I drive the car fairly easy. But of smOke when I rev up past 5000.

The yellow coil light light started flashing about 2 weeks ago. It was intermittent st the start but tends to happen almost every day. When the light comes there is no power. Only 'limp home' power.

Mechanic getting a price to have turbo sent to uk for fixing. Said it would be 1400 for new one.

turbos dont give much hassle on the mondeos it,s usually leaking intercooler pipes or egr,s the only turbo which does give trouble is the one with the electroic motor and can be repaired in place without removing the turbo
