One thing to point out about the HD2 is that it runs Windows Mobile 6.5, which is being sidelined by MS in favour of their new WP7 which came out this week. Don't be expecting many new apps for it. I haven't used it personally but WP 6.5 has a reputation for being terrible generally, though I'd imagine the HD2 has some form of HTC Sense skin to iron out some of the kinks.

HD2 would be a big upgrade compared to 3G (you dont mean 3GS by the way?)

If you invested big into Apps then do consider that as you will not be able to use the apps you purchased for your Apple phone. If you want to keep all your purchased apps from App Store then maybe upgrading to Iphone 4 is better option

HD2 runs winmo6.5 but its running HTC Sense on top as a skin , i did hear that it will be upgraded to win 7 but that’s irrelevant for now until you see it been rolled out.
HD2 has a bigger screen (4.3) and supports 3.5 mm stereo audio jack , will play any audio /video format unlike Apple phone.
For video files and music HD2 is better choice.
For apps Iphone is way much better, no competition.
