    Hi all,

Quick question. Missus is here filling out a med thing for new job.
one of the questions is as follows:

Have you ever had a urinary infection or kidney stone?
    - If Female, what is the date of your last period?

That is the question. Is that a legit question a company should ask?

    Thanks
    irish

I don't know about the legitimacy, but I'd be leaving that blank and discussing it only with their doctor, if they asked me to attend one. I think it's quite a weird question.

I'd imagine question 2 would be illegal as they are asking is she pregnant or not.

Well, that's the problem - there are many reasons why you mightn't have had a period in the last, say, 6 weeks+, and not all of them are pregnancy related, and not all of them are "bad". None of those are something I'd feel like discussing with random HR people, but would discuss with a doctor.

No matter whether I'd had a period yesterday, or 5 years ago, I'd leave that question blank until I knew who was going to see it.

If the missus isn't successful with the job application i'd be extremely curious to know what company it is.

Maybe you wouldn't mind sharing it with us anyway?

That's really out there in terms of questions I've heard have been asked during an interview process.

No, you see that's the thing. She already started recently but at the moment formalities still ongoing. This question just popped up on the med questionnaire. I just thought it a bit unfair to be asking that of women. Kind of a bit intrusive, you know? I think she's gonna answer it, she was just spooked as it was the first time she'd ever seen it asked too.
