I placed my first order with them and got what i was looking for for 75% of the next cheapest price i could find for the same thing but with the cashback its even cheaper

Delivery is 5euro plus VAT for orders under 75euro

    Hope this saves someone money!:P

This leather chair is €164.99 here and €82.49 here. €57.74 using the code. Think these prices are ex-vat??

I bought that chair from them two years ago. Really really comfortable. I would recommend it, especially at that price. Does that price include the €5 delivery for orders under €75.

Im only going by the product price so if its €5 delivery for sales under €75, then add that on.

Joe soap, just about anyone can order from them. I bought that chair mentioned above from them for home use. No previous dealings with them. No problems.
They really need to get rid of the stigma that they only deal with businesses.

A word of warning though. Do not sign up for news letter/post. You will be inundated with catalogs and the likes. I had to email them to get them to stop sending me these couple-of-hundred-page catalogues that could barely fit through my letter box.

Has anybody bought games from them before? I don't mind waiting a few weeks, but will they take the voucher for xbox games?

Are you sure? It is asking for a company name etc. when I try to purchase?

edit- ok now that I see they sell games I guess it's for non-business customers

am i doing something or wrong or does the discount not show up on the last page before committing to buy ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 200 ✭✭LeNNoX

lotsofthegreen, thanks for flagging the offer.

I just opened an account with Bethrifty and bought the chair kc66 recommended.

    kc66, the price is ex-vat.

redsteveireland, I don't have a business and didn't have any issues placing the order.

The cost of the chair just comes under €100 but with 30% discount code & 8% cashback it comes down to €62 which still seems like a good offer. Fingers crossed I actually get it for that.

Will post how it works out.

Where do you enter the voucher code ? :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 200 ✭✭LeNNoX

_Whimsical_, When you go through the order there's a section on 1 page for discount codes /vouchers down the bottom.

Can't remember which page it is exactly but just go through each one slowly and you'll find it.

    Happy shopping.

The discount does not show up before you checkout. I gave them a ring and they said that discount codes are applied only when the order is processed.

Guess that means that you won't be sure of having the code accepted until you get the invoice

The discount shows at the end of the checkout process. You will know immediately if the discount has been applied.

I have used Viking many times and I believe they are an honourable company. In the unlikely event of some mistake with the discount, just give them a ring and they will sort it out.

I had this delivered today: http://www.vikingdirect.ie/catalog/catalogSku.do?id=3273066&pr=Q81

An absolute bargain @ €69. I think I'll sleep in it tonight :D.

I'll have to correct you there. I ordered that chair. Discount not applied at checkout, it was showing as €99 all in. I rang today and they then confirmed that price was €67.

You sound strangely like you are affiliated with them in some way.?

I haven't gotten what I ordered yet, but they were nice enough to send me a catalogue already that I didn't want/ask for.

I very carefully went through it and made sure to tick/untick everything. I'll wait til I get the delivery and ring them up to stop it. They even sent the catalogue by courier.:pac:

Expired yesterday? Shame as I could do with a change; am sick of the Niceday Berlin I bought a while back. The headrest is too low and is probably forcing my back into a mighty hump. :o

I'm afraid I'll have to re-correct you there.

For me, at least, the discount DID show up at the end of the checkout process and I knew from looking at my account that the discount HAD been applied.

Total price for the chair was €69 and a few cents (can't remember exactly).

And while I'll admit I may be strange, I'm in no way associated with Viking. I only ever order from them when they have good deals.

    received the chair yesterday.

    payed 69.87 in total.

but havent got round to setting it up yet

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 200 ✭✭LeNNoX

My chair was delivered yesterday too.

I got an invoice for €99 but was charged €94.61 on my visa.
The discount code didn't show up for me but I rang them and they confirmed they will apply 30% back to my card :)

I just need to buy a desk now:D

You'll get these catalogues every 3-6 months as well as leaflets too. I suggest you unsubscribe on the site (if you can) or send them an email to get them to stop.

Great deal, we have an account with Viking and they applied the discount on the paper invoice we received.

My only gripe is bethrifty themselves and that they are so slow to give cashback, 4 months since I bought a phone from Vodafone and they only confirmed it last week after numerous emails.
Still not showing the purchase from Viking either.

Waiting on a big €30 payment to be confirmed for over three months now. Had to initially correct them about the value of the payment too, as they were giving me too little. They sure dont make it painless for you do they.

Viking seem to be a very consumer friendly company. At least from my experience. If only they could lift the stigma that they only deal with businesses.

Same experience. If you read the terms it says as a soon as purchase is confirmed you get your cashback. I've emailed and had no reply.
Very happy with Viking, they also rang and said I had a €15 discount off next purchase over €75, probably give that to everyone!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,255 ✭✭✭loopymum

redsteveireland, is your purchase showing up as being tracked with bethrifty?

Mine isn't yet, even though I emailed them a few days ago asking about it and heard nothing from them.

Lucky you getting phonecall from Viking with discount, they didn't ring me!:(

I haven't seen anything on bethrifty indicating I made a purchase(where does this show normally? I think they only rang me because I emailed to make sure they didn't start sending out catalogues.

Click on your earnings in the top right hand corner after logging into bethrifty. You should then be able to see if it's being tracked.
we should be getting 8% cashback through bethrifty as well as the 30% discount off the basket price.

I ordered a couple of boxes of stamps so it was a really good deal.
