I want My Ex Back

    Hello all,
My ex and I broke up about 1 1/2 years ago after 3 years together. I moved from another country to be with him because we both thought each other were it. Unfortunately, I had a really hard time adjusting here and didn't really have any friends or life besides him. I fell into a very deep depression and broke up with him because it wasn't fair for him to deal with my problems and I needed to make my own life here and be happy on my own. I loved him very deeply, but I didn't think it was right that I was putting so much pressure on him to make me happy.
A few months after we broke up I was sexually molested by someone who I thought was a friend. My ex and I tried to get back together, but I couldn't let him touch me without bursting into tears. I told him a little bit about what happened, but not everything because I was embaressed and ashamed.
I feel now that after going through months of therapy and work, I am finally happy in myself & ready to be with someone.
The problem is, I think the whole thing became too hurtful on his side. I tried to tell him how I felt and he just kept saying that I broke his heart last year & that he thought we would be together forever & I ruined everything.
I never meant to hurt him (it hurt me just us much to realise I had to break up with him to save anything we could possibly have in the future) and I thought that because I loved him so much, it was for the best that I broke things of so he wouldn't have to deal with me being depressed. Does anyone think its possible for me to get him back, or has the past screwed everything up? Thank you for reading.

    Hey OP,

I do think it would be possible to get back to him, but you really need to talk to him about everything that happened and the reasons for your break up. He can then decide whether he wants to be with you.

He is most likely confused about the reasons why it ended as it seems you didn't explain everything to him.

I also moved countries to be with my man and found it extremely difficult to settle. Because I was unhappy, it was putting alot of strain on the relationship. I called it quits to focus on myself. But once I was happy, I realized that he was what I wanted and explained everything to him. Now, more then ever, we talk about things that we have trouble with. I face my troubles with him by my side. Because I was open and honest with him. He never stopped loving me and realized that I needed to do those things in order for us to be together.

Just talk to him. If you cant find the words, show him your post. Life is too short to wonder what if? Just go out there, tell him how you feel and hope for the best. If he doesnt want to go back to you, then at least you can say you tried.

    Goodluck
